HANDSCHING is working on a project to alleviate CRPS. Together with the Smart Textiles experts at ITP Jena, we are working on a cooling glove to treat a so-called ‘fever hand’.

CRPS is a complex regional pain syndrome. The condition is also known as ‘Sudeck's disease’, ‘sympathetic reflex dystrophy’ or ‘algodystrophy’. CRPS can occur after injuries to the arms or legs (in 5% of patients) and is often accompanied by severe discomfort and pain. How CRPS develops is unclear, but there are many indications that inflammatory processes lead to dysregulation of the nervous system. If the disease occurs in the hand, there are various treatment options depending on the symptoms.

CRPS can cause the affected hand to be very cold or very hot.

Kühlhandschuh bei CRPS Entwicklung

If the hand has an elevated temperature, cooling measures are useful to relieve both the pain and the swelling. Ask us if you are affected by CRPS, have a hot hand and cold relieves your symptoms. You may be one of the first to benefit from our cooling glove.

If you have cold symptoms in individual fingers or your hand, we can also manufacture a heated glove to meet your specific needs and provide cosy warmth.
