There is little public awareness of this disease - even we were not aware of this soft tissue and bone change in the hands or feet. We are grateful that an encounter with an affected patient has sensitized us to this. Because with our individual gloves we can support these people and alleviate the problems at least on the hands.
Here you can see how we were able to help the godmother with soft lined winter gloves for the sick and healthy hand.*
Sudeck's disease, Sudeck's disease, algodysthrophy, neurodystrophy, sympathetic reflex dystrophy and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (also CRPS, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) - all terms refer to one and the same health problem: a trophic soft tissue and bone alteration as well as disorders of vasomotor and sudomotor functions mostly on hands and feet. The frequency of the disease is not exactly known; in Germany it is assumed that there are at least 10,000 to 40,000 cases. You can find more information on the website of Morbus Sudeck Selbsthilfe Bremen: https://www.sudeckselbsthilfe.de/was-ist-morbus-sudeck-crps/
* Because the hand affected by Sudeck's disease can be very cold as well as hot and swollen, we are currently working on the development of a cooling glove suitable for everyday use.
